Ernst Günther von Hunnius

Going to Germany and Canada in the name of a better future

Ernst Günther begins his story with a journey to Germany, where he thought he might find a better future as he was of Baltic German origin and served in the German army. His mother went to stay with his sister in Berlin, where she worked as a nurse. Unfortunately, she died of pneumonia. Ernst Günther had to spend some time in a POW camp at the end of the Second World War. He later managed to emigrate to Canada.
