The farm of deported father was turned into a Soviet military city that has been abandoned by now
Mara tells about her father who was deported in 1949 with the whole family from their farm (Kunči, Latvia) to Omsk. In 1958, he returned to Latvia, but didn't find his farm anymore because a Soviet military city had been built instead of the village. It has been abandoned by now. Mara compares the former military city of Kunči to Chernobyl.
